Madhya Pradesh Food Minister Govind Singh Rajput stresses the importance of transparency and accountability in the National Food Security Act implementation, detailing SMS alerts for consumers, technological advancements in PDS, and plans to study successful food security initiatives from other states.
Madhya Pradesh Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput reiterated the significance of the National Food Security Act (NFSA) as a tool for social justice rather than just a foodgrain distribution scheme. Speaking at a two-day national workshop in Bhopal organized by the Madhya Pradesh State Food Commission and NITI Aayog, he emphasized that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav's commitment to 'Garib Kalyan', the state government is ensuring no eligible family in Madhya Pradesh is deprived of their rightful entitlements to foodgrains.
Minister Rajput detailed that consumers now receive SMS notifications at every stage of the ration distribution process, from the distribution center to the Fair Price Shop and from the shop to the beneficiary. He stated that these measures aim to provide complete transparency and accountability in the system. The Government's objective is not merely to supply ration but to ensure that every eligible beneficiary receives their entitlement on time with complete transparency and accountability.
Minister Rajput further underlined that Fair Price Shops across the State have been integrated with advanced technology, including Point-of-Sale (PoS) machines, e-KYC, digital ration distribution, online monitoring, and real-time tracking of the entire supply chain. These measures have significantly enhanced transparency and reliability in foodgrain distribution, effectively curbing irregularities and strengthening public confidence in the system.
Furthermore, Minister Rajput announced plans for a team of officials to study successful food security initiatives implemented in other states and submit a detailed report. He added that all constructive suggestions emerging from the workshop would be examined and implemented wherever appropriate.
Minister Shri Rajput concluded by stating that food, nutrition, and social security are essential for a developed Madhya Pradesh, and the State Government is continuously working towards this goal.
